JA of South Central PA has had a great track record of growth. From 1961 to 2006, there were only a few years where student numbers
didn't increase.
The rapid growth however has come in the past decade. In 1991, we were reaching slightly under 10,000 students. By 2001 we increased to 20,000 students and to 30,000 by 2004. This past year, over 26,500 students received a JA experience in the classroom, in addition to 5,300 students who came through JA BizTown®, for a total of over 35,000 students. Due to the economic recession of 2008, we have had to slow down our outreach. The "Secure a Class" campaign effort was introduced to help financially secure JA programs on a class-by-class basis. Through the outstanding support of our community, we reached 33,000 students. While this is a decline from our highest year however, this is significantly higher than we had originally budgeted based on the economic forecast. |
Benchmarks on JA of South Central PA
JA Worldwide® provides regular comparisons between JA offices. This benchmark process is intended to help measure performance between offices. The benchmarks compare the JA office here with similar size offices based on students reached.
One of the benchmarks used is Market Share. This is the percent of students participating in JA programs as compared to the total public enrollment for the area. JASCPA has consistently out-performed most offices.
